Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the participant will:

  • Recognize the burden of ACO on our healthcare landscape
  • Define ACO, including diagnosis, symptoms and disease trajectory
  • Discuss available therapeutic options
  • List key components of an ACO management plan
  

Speaker

Dr. Anthony D’Urzo, (MSc, BHPE, CCFP, FCFP) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and has spent many years teaching in the department. He has been a volunteer member of the Lung Association since 1992. Dr. D’Urzo has had the opportunity to publish numerous articles in the area of asthma and COPD management. He has been the Director of the Primary Care Lung Clinic since 1993 and is currently the Chair and Co-Founder of the Primary Care Respiratory Alliance of Canada (PCRC). His professional goal is to promote lung health in primary care. During his free time, he enjoys physical fitness, reading and spending time with his family.
